When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. No other personal information is required to subscribe.

When you submit an enquiry, support request, or expression of interest through our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the details you include in your message.

When you start a free trial, buy an OpenTech software subscription or use the customer portal, we collect your email address, name and company (if provided), your purchase and licence records, and the names of the PCs you register to use the software (with the app version and the time each PC last checked in).

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number; Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

Newsletter subscriptions: We use your name and email address to send you personalised updates about SOLIDWORKS offers, new OpenTech software releases, events, and related news. You will only receive emails related to these topics.

Enquiries and support requests: We use your contact details to respond to your enquiry, provide quotes, and deliver the services you have requested.

Software accounts: We use your account, licence and device details to run your trial or subscription, check your licence, and send you account, licensing and billing messages.

Your data is stored securely in our databases. Newsletter subscriber emails are stored separately from enquiry submissions and are never mixed or shared between the two systems.

We use trusted service providers to run our website and software: database hosting (Supabase), website hosting (Netlify), payments (Stripe), email delivery, and spam protection on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a visitor is a person). They process data on our behalf and may store it outside Australia.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Once unsubscribed, your email address is marked as inactive and will not receive further newsletters.

Enquiry and support request data is retained for as long as necessary to provide our services and respond to any follow-up questions.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by replying to any newsletter email with "unsubscribe" in the subject line, or by contacting us directly at info@opentechdesigns.com.

Once unsubscribed, you will not receive any further newsletter emails from us unless you choose to subscribe again.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or request that we delete your data.

We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies, and we do not track your browsing behaviour across our site or third-party websites.

The customer portal keeps your sign-in session in your browser so you stay signed in.

Some pages show content from other providers, such as YouTube videos, Google Maps and Google Fonts. When that content loads, those providers may receive your IP address or set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
